Boston-based catastrophe modeling company AIR Worldwide said it has expanded the capabilities of its terrorism risk model to support scenario testing for the United States and 27 other countries. 

Foster City, California-based insurance software developer Guidewire Software Inc. said Waterloo, Ontario-based automotove technology company Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc. has joined its Guidewire PartnerConnect program.

Guidewire also said it has released its financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year ended July 31. 

Hackensack, New Jersey-based personal lines and commercial insurance broker Confie Seguros said it has acquired Washington Park, Illinois-based BMR Agency LLC (First Stop Insurance), Las Vegas-based Osorio and Family LLC (CityWide Insurance) and Miami-based Absolute Insurance Agency Inc. Terms were not dislcosed.

Des Plaines, Illinois-based Applied Client Network, the international association of users of Applied Systems software, said it is holding its Applied Net conference Sept. 19-22 in Orlando, Florida.

Chicago-based insurance brokerage Hub International Ltd. said it has acquired the shares of Barrie, Ontario-based Sarjeant Insurance Brokers Ltd. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.  

London-based risk management, insurance brokerage and financial advisory company Willis Towers Watson said it has established a North America public entity practice.

Chicago-based Chicago Underwriting Group, Inc., the professional liability underwriting division of Old Republic Insurance Co., said it is changing its name to Old Republic Professional Liability Inc. 

Chicago-based CCC Information Services said it is offering a new suite of telematics-enabled claims sofware that includes electronic crash detection, automatically initiated first notice of loss and predictive analytics. 

New York City-based ALM Media Properties LLC, parent company of and National Underwriter Property & Casualty, said that McKinsey Global Institute’s Michael Chui will keynote ALM’s Consulting magazine's Consulting Summit: “Digital Disruption & Consulting: Opportunity Meets Demand” at the Roosevelt Hotel on Friday, Oct. 14, in New York City.

New York City-based AIG’s Private Client Group said it has collaborated with the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Resolve Maritime Academy and the Newport Shipyard in Rhode Island to provide 26 firefighters from the Newport Fire Department a two-day classroom training on fighting yacht and marina blazes. This took place Sept. 13 and 14.

London-based adjusting and claims management company Cunningham Lindsey said it is expanding its Oriel Managed Repair services segment in the United States.

Bermuda-based specialist insurer Hiscox said it has released the findings of its eighth annual "DNA of an Entrepreneur" report, which surveyed more 1,000 small and medium-size U.S. business owners about the financial pressures, stresses, opportunities and challenges currently faced by entrepreneurs.
