People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: May 6, 2016

Jacksonville, Fla.-based property and casualty insurer Main Street America Group said it has promoted Darryl Osman to assistant vice president from director of personal lines product management and market research. 

The company also said it has appointed four new company officers, all of whom will be an assistant secretary of the company. The new officers are Daniel Blau, director of personal lines pricing; Jane McPherson, director of commercial lines product management; Deana Pessina, director of commercial lines product management; and Scott Simmons, director of commercial lines agribusiness. 

The board of directors of Webster, Mass.-based Mapfre USA Corp. said that, effective Jan. 1, 2017, Jaime Tamayo will be promoted to CEO of the international territorial area of Mapfre. He will oversee the North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific regions. Tamayo will succeed Javier Fernández-Cid, who will retire at the end of the year. Tamayo is currently the CEO of Mapfre USA Corp. and CEO of Mafpre’s North America Region. 

Kansas City, Mo.-based insurance brokerage Lockton Cos. said it plans to create two new business teams to align its Texas operations. Lockton’s Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Fort Worth Property and Casualty operations will be combined into a single operation under the leadership of Tim Kelly, chairman and CEO. Frank Scardino will continue in his role as president of the Dallas Property and Casualty business. Bruce Sammis has been named chairman and CEO of Lockton’s employee benefits operations in Texas.

Commercial reinsurance broking and underwriting specialist London Market Group said it has appointed Nicolas Aubert, head of Great Britain for Willis Towers Watson, as its new chairman. He will succeed Steve Hearn, the chief executive officer of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford, who has held the role for two years.

Canton, Mass.-based Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co. said it has added James Dawson as senior regional sales director to its workplace solutions division. He joins from Lincoln Financial Group, where he as a senior marketing representative. Dawson is based in Florida.

New York City-baesd insurer Ironshore Inc. said it has added Adriana Nariño as head of surety for its Latin American group. Based in Miami, Fla., Narińo joins from Swiss Reinsurance Co., where she was vice president and senior underwriter for more than 15 years.

New York City-based insurance technology startup Slice Labs Inc. said that Tom Hutton, managing partner of XL Innovate, has joined its board of directors.

Itasca, Ill.-based professional insurance organization Associated Risk Managers International Inc. said its shareholder members have elected Greg Easley chairman of the board of directors. Easley currently serves as vice president and corporate secretary of RMD/Patti Insurance Agency & Financial Services. He has served on the board since May 2012.

New York City-based insurance broker and risk advisor Marsh said David Fuhrman is joining the firm to lead its West Zone division. He joins from Willis, where he was national partner for the California region. Fuhrman is based in Los Angeles.

The North Carolina Central University School of Business in Durham said alumnus James H. Speed Jr. will receive a 2016 Business Achievement Award from the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. He recently retired as president, CEO and director of the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Raleigh, N.C.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based insurance services company Brentwood Services Administrators Inc. said it has promoted Matt Anglin, AIC, to senior vice president of claims from assistant vice president of claims. He joined the company in 1999 as a senior claim adjuster.

Brentwood also said it has promoted Mark Sparks to senior vice president of claims from regional claims manager. He joined the company in 2013.

San Diego-based claims management software company Mitchell International said that Debbie Day has joined the company’s Auto Physical Damage business unit as general manager. She joins from Closing Corp., where she was chief operating officers and senior vice president.

New York City-based insurance software company Bolt Solutions Inc. said it has named Mike Eagan managing director of sales. He joins from SunGard.

The Washington, D.C.-based Certified Automotive Parts Association announced the election of Nick Scheid of Ray, Mich.-based LNS & Associates as vice chairman of CAPA’s Technical Committee.
