Dozens of cars were left in a heap after floodwaters receded in downtown Genoa, Italy on Friday.

Europe has been hammered with heavy rains this week, with northern Italy and southern France receiving the brunt of the damage.

On Thursday, it got to be too much, when the Bisagno River, one of the largest waterways in the region, overflowed its banks, flooding the city of Genoa, Italy and killing at least one person, who was swept away.
