CAPA sees record increases in new part approvals

With record-setting recalls for car manufacturers, the replacement parts used after a crash take on new significance for insurers.

The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) saw a dramatic jump in the number of part applications for the first six months of 2014 over the same period in 2013. The program certified 61% more part applications and put 30% more CAPA Certified parts into the marketplace.

The growth doesn’t stop there. Since the end of 2013, the organization has added 10 more manufacturers, an increase of 25%. The organization says these numbers are a strong indication of the value CAPA Certified parts bring to insurers and collision repair shops.
