Barney & Barney named David Freeman director of property-casualty sales. Freeman has more than 16 years of experience in business insurance and risk management and will oversee a client executive team.
Angela Milks joined GMI Insurance as its underwriting director. Milks has more than a decade of experience writing and evaluating transportation risks for National Interstate Insurance Co, where she filled several roles including sales, marketing, underwriting and leading a new program's design and implementation.
Jimcor Agencies appointed Christopher K. Hofmann to the role of branch manager of its Plymouth Meeting, Pa. office. He brings 15 years of industry experience on the agency and carrier side.
Ken Stanley was promoted to senior vice president--distribution management and field operations for PMA Cos. Stanley will be responsible for the execution of PMA's agency distribution strategy and will lead the company's network of branch offices.
American Collectors Insurance combined its online sales and service dept. with its phone sales and service dept. As part of the new sales team alignment, the company named Laura Packard vice president of sales and marketing, Regina Buckley the manager of sales and service and Maura Craven manager of carrier compliance and broker relations.
Ty Sagalow was appointed to fill the role of senior risk advisor for Hanover Stone Partners. He was also selected to head the company's newly established New Product Development Practice. In the past, Sagalow spent 25 years as a senior executive with AIG in positions such as chief underwriting officer, COO of AIG eBuisness Risk Solutions and more.
New Programs
Travelers designed a new cyber coverage, CyberFirst Essentials Small Business, which exclusively targets small businesses. Coverage will protect the businesses against some of the most common information security breaches, including:
- Online hacking and data theft of confidential information such as credit card numbers, SSNs and medical data
- Accidental loss or sharing of personally-identifiable information from electronic or physical sources.
Insight Specialty Programs partnered with GoAgents.com, a cloud-based distribution platform that provides agents with online tools necessary to sell insurance products to existing customers. The partnership will allow Insight's agents immediate access to ISP's suite of products and the ability to send links to clients or post them on web pages. The links will allow consumers to obtain quotes and purchase coverage directly from their agent.
IronHealth introduced IronMed NC, a hybrid medical professional liability product that integrates its hospital professional liability knowledge with the Medial Mutual Insurance Co. of North Carolina. The product is designed to meet current and future needs of healthcare organizations in the face of healthcare reform and other changes within the hospital landscape.

Trusted choice is the consumer marketing identity for more than 24,000 independent agencies and brokerage firms and 65 leading insurance and financial services companies.
The California Dept. of Insurance (CDI) named Dr. Paul Song as its first visiting fellow. Dr. Song is a faculty member in the Samuel Oschin Cancert Center at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in the Dept. of Radiation Oncology and Biomedial Sciences in Los Angeles, Calif. CDI believes the consumers it stands to protect will benefit from his extensive healthcare experience and knowledge.
