Hires and Promotions at Allied World U.S., Zurich, Aon Risk Solutions and More - Around the Industry

Digital acquires SEBS Midwest, new programs from Hiscox, Fulcrum, IronHealth, Everest National and NIF, news from ICAT.

People & Places

Kevin Maloney will assume the role of vice president, excess casualty for Allied World U.S. His focus will be manging and expanding Allied's Real Estate & Financial Institutions practice.

Zurich appointed Patrick Healy to head of international programs for Zurich North American commercial. Healy succeeds Reto Arrigoni and has served as the international industry leader for the East and South regions.

Patrick McCaleb and Phil Grove are joining EPIC as principals at their new Fresno location. The two have a combined 60 years of industry experience and will oversee growth of EPIC's new location and client relations.

Aon Risk Solutions chose Janette Wilcox to be resident managing director of its Jacksonville location. Wilcox was previously an underwiting director for CNA and has 17 years of experience in the industry.

Barbara Gall was appointed senior vice president of technology practice for Lockton's San Jose, Calif. branch. She will focus on the broker's expanding San Francisco Bay Area and western region presence.  


Mergers & Acquisitions

Digital Insurance acquired Strategic Employee Benefits Services (SEBS) of the Midwest. The acquisition will expand Digital's presence in the region. SEBS will be known as Digital Benefit Advisors, a division of Digital.


New Programs

Hiscox developed a technology portfolio with several individual modules in order to offer complete coverage of risk profiles of businesses. The modules include:

  • Technology company breach of contract coverage
  • Coverage for claims that result from breaches of confidential personal or corporate information
  • Coverage for cost of response to data breaches
  • Compensation for loss related to a hack and reimbursement for repair or replacement of hacked assets
  • Cyber extortion coverage
  • Online content protection, including social media
  • Miscellaneous professional liability coverage.

Everest National Insurance Co. has partnered with NIF Group Inc. to launch a non-profit social service program. The partners hope to use their similar histories and expertise to cater to a wide variety of social service providers.

Fulcrum announced a GL program for full-service luxury hotels and resorts. The program includes:

  • Green reputation coverage
  • Spa services liability
  • Non-employment discrimination liability.

IronHealth, a division of Ironshore Inc., introduced integrated delivery organization (IDO) coverage. The IDO program allows healthcare organizations to consolidate existing but separate liability programs into one product. This feature will address possible gaps in coverage when two organizational structures come together due to a merger or acquisition.



ICAT selected OneShield Dragon as its policy management solution. OneShield Dragon will allow ICAT to access a collaborative underwriter workbench that will automate and consolidate workflow. This feature will minimize cost and maximize efficiency of turn-around to producers.
