Trusted Choice Gets 66th Company Member

NU Online News Service, April 3, 10:51 a.m. EDT

Co-operative Insurance Companies became the 66th company member of the Trusted Choice consumer-branding program for independent insurance agents and brokers.

Co-operative Insurance, headquartered in Middlebury, Vt., is an association of three Vermont-based co-operative fire-insurance companies: the Patrons Co-operative Fire Insurance Company, the Farmers Co-operative Fire Insurance Company, and the Rural Co-operative Fire Insurance Company. The companies date back to 1915, 1924 and 1933, respectively.

In 1951, for financial and efficiency reasons, the three individual companies joined forces as Co-operative Fire Insurance Association of Vermont. In 1997, the name was changed to Co-operative Insurance Companies.

Co-op serves home, auto, business, and farm owners in Vermont and New Hampshire.

Trusted Choice is pleased to welcome Co-operative Insurance Companies as the newest company partner,” says Dave Evans, Trusted Choice executive director. “The Co-operative Insurance Companies exemplify the Trusted Choice pledge of performance and have a long history of protecting communities and farmers in Vermont and New Hampshire. We look forward to working with them to serve the needs of Trusted Choice agents and their clients.”

“We’re happy to be associated with the Trusted Choice program,” says Marie Jewett, president and chief executive officer of Co-operative Insurance. “Trusted Choice provides excellent tools to and visibility for independent agents; we believe that joining the program is an opportunity for us to further support our agency force in Vermont and New Hampshire.”

Established in 2001, Trusted Choice is the independent agent branding campaign established by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America.
