Travelers Offers Telematics Technology to Fleet Operators

Travelers has rolled out Intelli- Drive Fleet Safety Solutions, which uses telematics technology to implement fleet-safety programs.

IntelliDrive is being offered through Travelers for local and intermediate fleet operations and through Northland Insurance Co., a Travelers subsidiary that provides insurance for long-haul operations.

The devices use a range of technologies, including GPS and accelerometers, to measure the habits of drivers, and that information is sent to the company.

Travelers says companies can use the technology to monitor how quickly a vehicle brakes and whether the vehicle’s driver is speeding or operating outside of a predetermined route or time. Businesses can use the data to assess and mitigate the risks of various driving behaviors.

IntelliDrive also offers guidance from risk-control consultants along with current, relevant information on telematics so customers can implement and manage their own programs.
