DocuLynx Buys Anacomp's Online, Document Management Divisions

DocuLynx Inc., a provider of document archive and retrieval, electronic distribution, and Web presentment solutions, announced the acquisition of the docHarbor online and document management divisions of Anacomp, a company that specializes in business process solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, DocuLynx acquired the docHarbor divisions of Anacomp for a purchase price of $27.5 million effective as of Sept. 1.

Anacomp's computer output microfiche (COM) capabilities; CD services; document scanning; report printing; analog to digital conversion; docHarbor online Web presentment solution combined with DocuLynx' portfolio of digital Mercury software solutions provides a unique opportunity for business environments with deployed microfiche-based document management systems as well as those with digital systems requirements.

Additionally, the acquisition expands DocuLynx's service provider customer base to include several verticals where Anacomp has an entrenched presence, including insurance, banking and finance, manufacturing, healthcare, telecom, government and utilities. The Anacomp divisions are expected to be fully integrated into the business model of DocuLynx.
