Zurich has appointed Rod DeMaso as head of captives and alternative risk transfer solutions for its Programs & Direct Markets business unit.
DeMaso will be based in Schaumburg, Ill. and be responsible for overseeing Zurich's insurance offerings that use alternative distribution approaches for captive consultants and specialized agents and brokers.
DeMaso joined Zurich in 1999 to oversee industry segments and moved into captives in 2001. Prior to joining Zurich, he held roles in engineering, underwriting, sales and marketing with Factory Mutual and Allendale Mutual Insurance Co.
