ALTRU LLC, a managing general underwriter, introduces an expanded D&O liability insurance policy to protect not- for- profit organizations and their management against liability claims. The coverage is issued by Old Republic Insurance Co., and distributed through wholesale and retail insurance brokers throughout the U.S.
The new policy provides a coverage option in the form of a supplemental data breach endorsement, available on a select basis with a sublimit. Non-profit organizations that receive and disburse donations, grants, loans and other financial support electronically, can possess sensitive information of either their supporters or beneficiaries, and are as much a potential target for cyber attack and vulnerable to data breach as any commerce driven organization may be.
