Insurance Broadcasting Names Its 2010 Dream Team

Insurance Broadcasting, in conjunction with the Insurance Media Association, has announced its seventh annual list of the 100 most powerful people in the insurance industry for North America, also referred to as the Insurance Dream Team.

The methodology Insurance Broadcasting uses for measuring power is not to create a list of the CEOs of the 100-largest insurance companies. Nor does it recognize or account for past achievement, longevity, decide who is the most effective businessperson, determine who has been the most innovative, or choose who is on the fast track to the top.

Insurance Broadcasting has 21 categories for its list, including insurance technology and insurance technology vendors.

In the insurance technology listing, those named to the list include Jim Kellner, chairman and CEO of Applied Systems; Greg Maciag, president and CEO of ACORD; Rick Morgan, interim CEO of Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet); Clare DeNicola, president and CEO of IVANS; Mary Roth, executive director of Risk and Insurance Management Society; and Jeff Yates, executive director of the Agents Council for Technology (ACT). (Yates currently is featured in a podcast interview on the Tech Decisions Web site.)

Those on the insurance technology vendors list include Jay Cook, CEO and chief visioneer of MIB Group; Frank Coyne, chairman, president, and CEO of Insurance Services Office (ISO); and David North, president and CEO of Sedgwick Claims Management Services.

Also listed under the category of insurance organizations is Joseph Pomilia, executive director of the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA).

In addition, under the heading of insurance media, Andrew Goodenough, president and CEO of Summit Business Media, is listed for the fourth time. Summit Business Media is the parent company of Tech Decisions magazine and Tech-Decisions.com
