The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has elected Jonathan Bennett as the new chairman of its board of directors. Bennett is executive vice president of personal and small business insurance at The Hartford. He succeeds Gregory V. Ostergren, chairman, president, and chief executive officer, American National Property and Casualty Cos., who served as IIHS chairman during 2009.
IIHS president Adrian Lund said, "Jonathan's strong leadership will help us continue to build on our successful research and crash test programs in 2010."
