Max Capital Group Ltd. said it has promoted Executive Vice President David Kalainoff to the post of president of reinsurance operations for Bermuda and Ireland.
Mr. Kalainoff in his last post also held the title of managing director reinsurance and chief underwriting officer, Casualty Reinsurance of Max Bermuda. He joined Max in 2003.
W. Marston Becker, chairman and chief executive officer of Max Capital Group Ltd., said Mr. Kalainoff in the past several years has successfully built a profitable book of casualty reinsurance business for Max.
"We believe that Dave has the skills, experience and motivation that will be critical as we seek to further develop our global reinsurance platform," added Mr. Becker.
The company said Mr. Kalainoff has 30 years of casualty underwriting experience and was previously with Transatlantic Reinsurance Company in New York, where he served as senior vice president of specialty casualty.
Prior to joining Transatlantic in 1996, he held management positions at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Continental Insurance Company.
