In Florida, an average of 3.7 million people lacked health coverage over the last three years, as poverty increased in the state and median income fell, according to recently released U.S. Census Bureau survey data. Based on those numbers, Florida now ranks as the fourth-worst state in the nation in health coverage, with 20.8 percent of its people uninsured in 2008.
