State Farm increases Ill. rates by 13 percent

State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. announced a 13 percent increase for homeowners in Illinois, to take effect Aug. 1 for new customers and Oct. 1 for renewing policyholders, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday, July 2. The Bloomington, Ill. insurance company is also planning a 17 to 20 percent increase in its home/auto discount. Individual rate changes will vary depending on the specific terms of a customer's policy coverages and deductibles.
